Tunstall’s Lone Worker Monitoring uses a bespoke monitoring device that allows employees to check in with a dedicated contact centre. Since they can connect to a smartphone, tablet or smartwatch, they can check in and check out wherever their work assignment may be, in addition to being able to trigger a duress call at any time. Our Care Consultants work around the clock to follow up on incidents, monitor real-time alerts and can signal for an employer or emergency services to assist, offering direct support when needed.
In the unfortunate event that a lone worker becomes injured, our Care Consultants can monitor and take action to remedy the situation. Should a lone worker fail to check in or check out of their work schedule, our consultants will follow up with them and their employer until a resolution is achieved and the employee’s safety is confirmed.
How does the Fall Detection feature work in Tunstall’s Alarms?
If enabled, the fall detection features in Tunstall’s personal safety pendants can be life-saving. The fall detection feature is triggered if the user experiences a fall or loses their balance, measured by an in-built accelerometer. This can automatically trigger an alert when it detects that the wearer has experienced a fall. This alert will go directly to our Customer Care team which you can talk to at any time of the day. How do emergency services know where to find you?
Tunstall mobile personal alarms with fall detection are equipped with GPS so emergency responders can accurately locate the wearer anytime. There are also fall detectors that are connected to your in-home personal alarm so emergency services can go directly to your listed address.
Important: Fall Detection Limitations
Fall detection technology cannot detect all types of falls, including:
- Soft falls or gradual descents
- Falls against walls or furniture
- Slow slumping or sliding
- Some dangerous falls may still go undetected
Fall detection is an additional layer of protection, not a replacement for manual activation.
