For over 60 years, Tunstall has empowered Australians to live confidently in the place of their choice, with personal alarms designed for both in-home and on-the-go protection.
If you’re an approved applicant through Personal Alert Assistance SA (PAASA), you may be eligible for a subsidised PAASA Personal Alarm from Tunstall.
What is PAASA?
Personal Alert Assistance SA (PAASA) is a South Australian Government program that helps eligible older people have access to:
- Approved personal alert system, and
- Ongoing monitoring services.
These systems are ideal for people who may be at risk of falls or medical emergencies, helping them to live safely at home for longer while maintaining their independence and connection to the community.
Am I Eligible for a PAASA Personal Alarm?
You may be eligible for a PAASA Personal Alarm if you:
Are aged 75 or older (or 65 or older if you are Aboriginal)
Live in South Australia permanently
Hold a Centrelink or DVA Pensioner Concession Card
Have had an aged care assessment
Aged Care Assesments:
** You’ll also need to meet specific health and lifestyle criteria, which your health professional can help you with during the application process.
- Approved for the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)
- Approved for a Level 1 Home Care Package
- Deemed not eligible for CHSP or HCP.
How Do I Apply?
Getting started is simple:
- Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit myagedcare.gov.au to request an aged care assessment.
- Check your eligibility for PAASA based on age, residency, card status, and assessment outcome.
- Download the application form
- Complete the form with your health professional, who will help confirm your suitability for the program.
- Submit your form via email to paasa@sa.gov.au
